Which apps read this code?
The code follows the European Payments Council standard (EPC069-12), which most banking apps in Belgium and Europe can read. Not every app does; test it with your own app before you send it.
Is the payment made straight away?
No. The app fills in the transfer; the payer checks it and confirms it themselves. Zegel never touches an account.
Where does the structured communication go in the code?
In the field for a structured reference, as twelve digits. An RF reference can go there too. With a free-text message that field stays empty: the standard only allows one of the two.
