Explanation

Public holidays in Belgium in three steps

  1. Choose the year

This year is ready to go. Go back or forward, far into the future.

  2. Read the list

Zegel works out Easter, Ascension and Pentecost. If a holiday falls at the weekend, you see it at once.

  3. Add them to your calendar

Download an ICS file and open it in the calendar on your computer or phone.

Good to know

  • What if a holiday falls on a Sunday?

Employees then get a replacement day, set by the business or the sector. Zegel shows the holiday itself and tells you when it falls at the weekend.

  • Are 11 July, 27 September and 15 November days off?

They are the holidays of the Flemish, the French and the German-speaking Community. They aren’t legal public holidays: that community’s services and schools are closed, most employers are not.

  • How does Zegel know when Easter is?

With the fixed calculation of the Western churches: the first Sunday after the first full moon of spring. Easter Monday is the day after, Ascension 39 days after Easter, Whit Monday 50 days after.
